What do Ike, Warren and Deng have in common?
On November 7, 1942, General Dwight Eisenhower waited anxiously as Allied forces headed for the North African coast. To pass the time, Ike and three associates played…bridge.
Deng Xiaoping, who transformed modern China, was such an avid card player that he had a private railroad car built for…bridge. And Warren Buffet once candidly admitted, “I wouldn’t mind going to jail if I had three cellmates who played…bridge.”
Maybe you don’t aspire to being a commanding general, the architect of a nation or the world’s most successful investor. But generals, leaders and Wall Street titans gravitate to bridge because no other game demands that you learn to bluff skillfully, maintain mental discipline doggedly or master silent communication with a partner. And there’s even a better reason to learn bridge: It’s fun! The course will cover bridge basics, including No Trump playing and bidding; suit play, technique and bidding; and defensive bidding.
