In today's world of the “spiritual” (and not always “religious”), what does a Reform Jewish “spirituality” look like? While many Reform Jews have rediscovered traditional Jewish mysticism and storytelling, the unique heritage of Reform Judaism offers its own legacy. Blending a thoroughly Jewish devotion with modern sensibilities, Reform Judaism has created poetry, prayer and philosophical thought to speak to the life experiences and journeys of both Jews and non-Jews. In this course, we will read and discuss a range of historic and contemporary voices, many that spoke to the spirit of “yesterday” but that still speak to us today—and will continue to tomorrow.
