Alan Zweibel & Judd Apatow: What’s So Funny About America?
August 6
6:30 PM EDT
Free
For almost half a century, we’ve been laughing at Alan Zweibel’s jokes without even knowing his name because his lines were delivered by Gilda Radner and John Belushi, Garry Shandling and Billy Crystal. One of the original writers for Saturday Night Live, Zweibel has been a fixture in American comedy since the moment Lorne Michaels, creator of The Not Ready for Prime Time Players rescued him from his gig selling material to the last of the Borscht Belt standup comics for $7 a bit.
In his new book, Laugh Lines, Zweibel weaves together his own memories - of SNL, Curb Your Enthusiasm and his collaboration with Billy Crystal on their Tony Award-winning production of 700 Sundays - with interviews with his friends and colleagues, including Richard Lewis Bob Saget, Sarah Silverman, Dave Barry and Carl Reiner.
Wander down comedic memory lane with Zweibel in conversation with director, producer, screenwriter and comedian Judd Apatow.
Moderated by SiriusXM's Jessica Shaw.
