Wrathful gods, passionate yet vengeful goddesses and divinities of mercy and death dominated religious life in the ancient Near East for thousands of years before evolving into the One God of Israel. In this course, we will meet these divine predecessors where they originated, in Sumer, from about 2300 BCE. Together we will discover their influence upon the imagery and activity of God the Creator in the Hebrew Bible.

Restrictions

REFUND POLICY

For classes that meet 6 weeks or longer, a full refund may be requested after the first class meeting. After the second class, a CREDIT of 75% will be given that may be used toward any course and is good for one year. No credit will be given after the third class. Tuition cannot be pro-rated if you cannot attend all class sessions.
