For more than a century, Jewish songwriters have provided many of the greatest songs heard on Broadway and in Hollywood musicals. Entertainment historian John Kenrick returns to pull back the curtain on the private lives and dazzling careers of eight Jewish composers whose words and music have delighted audiences from the 1920s to today, becoming staples of the American soundtrack. 

Session 1: George & Ira Gershwin (Girl Crazy, An American in Paris)  

Session 2: E. Y. “Yip” Harburg (The Wizard of Oz, Finian’s Rainbow)  

Session 3: Frank Loesser (Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying)  

Session 4: Leonard Bernstein (Candide, West Side Story)  

Session 5: Jerry Herman (Hello Dolly, La Cage Aux Folles)  

Session 6: John Kander & Fred Ebb (Cabaret, Chicago)  

Restrictions

REFUND POLICY

For classes that meet 6 weeks or longer, a full refund may be requested after the first class meeting. After the second class, a CREDIT of 75% will be given that may be used toward any course and is good for one year. No credit will be given after the third class. Tuition cannot be pro-rated if you cannot attend all class sessions.
