Hannah Arendt Revisited: Modern Antisemitism as Public Policy

Tuesdays, 6:30 - 8:00 PM

March 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9, 16

OFFERED VIRTUALLY

One of the most creative areas of Arendt’s political philosophy focused on the extensive tactical use of antisemitism within European political structures and the often-passive Jewish communal response. Even today, her theories remain controversial, provoking strong Jewish criticism. There could be no better moment to reexamine her theses than in these challenging times.

Students will be provided readings in pdf format from Arendt’s The Jewish Writings and Antisemitism, part one of her Origins of Totalitarianism.
