OFFERED IN-PERSON

Delilah, Jezebel, Tamar, Yael and Lilith have been written into Jewish tradition, respectively, as a femme fatale, harlot, black widow, skull crusher and demoness. But were they really such negative or evil personalities? In this course, we'll pair stories of these unforgettable biblical women with midrash and poetry that reveal them as more complex characters. And in the age-old tradition of wrestling with Jewish texts, we will also reflect on what each of these women has to teach us.
