Introduction to Medieval Jewish Philosophy
The Medieval Period was the Golden Age of Jewish philosophy, as thinkers including Judah Halevi and Moses Maimonides grappled with challenging metaphysical issues: Did God create the world? Can human freedom be reconciled with divine foreknowledge? What is the nature of the good life? Are the Commandments Rational?
We will explore these questions in a lively, non-technical and comprehensive survey.
